Inspiring Blogger? Moi?

inspiring2

Inspiring – quite the word, isn’t it? I’m not quite sure that’s the best word to describe myself…but who am I to argue with pikenight? (Tomorrow – pay you then).

To become deserving of this award, my dishonorable self must:

1. Display the award logo on your blog. (Booyah)
2. Link back to the person who nominated you. (Certainly)
3. State 7 things about yourself. (Seven? Isn’t that a bit egocentric?)
4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them. (With pleasure)
5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements. (I suppose…I could do that.)

Seven Things About Me:

1) I once had a goldfish named Pinkerton, who leapt from his bowl to go exploring. His adventures ended in the heating vent. True story.

2) In my high school days, I typically spend much of math class wondering – “Why in the world did Travis give Ruth x amount of apples? Was this some rudimentary form of courtship? And really..apples was the best you could do, pal?” (Side note: X was often my grade)

3) I am a long-avowed enemy of Sir Walter Scott. The way “Ivanhoe” ended…no. You did not just say dat. The fair Rowena screamed in a tower. Rebecca saved his life. Guess which one got chosen? Thank you, Sir Walter Scott.

4) I get a juvenile joy out of doing random accents. However, my English easily transitions to Australian, and my Scottish to Irish…” ‘ow would yer like to give it a go, mate? Me accent is after bein’ quite a bonnie one, och?” And that’s on me best days.

5) I am the eldest of 8, and an accomplished (see: hardened, calloused, Mary Poppins/Attila the Hun) babysitter.

6) My dream is to become a published author (I have not planned much further than that, honestly – true mark of an aspiring writer. No plan B)

7) I think blogging is the bomb-diggity. A captive audience who is easily amused? Yes.

Nomination of 15 other (much more deserving) bloggers:

1) Fencing With Ink

2) the Ink Slinger

3) Larkleaves

4) Having Decided To Stay

5) Found a Christian by His Grace

6) Writing Sisters

7) Mere Inkling

8) Cristian Mihai

9) The Matilda Project

10) It keeps me wondering

11) Chris Martin Writes

12) All She Has to Say

13) The White Rabbit’s Cafe

14) What Disney Movies Teach Us

15) sethsnap

Wow. At the beginning of this list, I had no idea that so many of you had visited, liked, or commented on my blog, but as I re-read through it, I found you. Each and every one of you that encouraged me. Offered different insights. Or just laughed along.

Thank you. All of you.

About loverofwords20

Allison is an aspiring author, and a lover of words, music, and the Lord Jesus Christ. She is also abysmal at these “about you” things, being unable to think of quirky characteristics at the drop of a hat. However, she enjoys singing randomly and loudly, and laughing hysterically while being caught in the rain.

You are a Very Inspiring Blogger. I was thinking about your post- 21 Century Christmas story quite a bit yesterday. I helps to think about just how real the events in Scripture were by placing them in today’s world. I tend to read the Bible sort of detached from the realness of the stories, as if life for them was less real than life for me.

I also see Having Decided to Stay, an inspiring blog indeed! The Inkslinger- something to think about almost every day at The Inkslinger, and Larkleaves, whom I just visited- and will be visiting again!
But- is that Found A Christian By His Grace a second Blogger with that name? Or- is that- me? Oh my!

    • Thank you! I so appreciate the kind words – and I can definitely concur. I love to romanticize stories, making them epic, washing away the gritty grime, and I fear that’s what I often do with the Bible. Oh, yes! All of the ones you are mentioned are great favorites of mine to visit; always something beautiful or ponderific going on. And it is indeed you! I apologize – I initially had you linked to WordPress, but I later realized you were on blogspot. Think it should be all fixed now. Thanks for following, commenting, and making me think! 😀

You truly deserve this award! Congratulations! Your responses to the questions are entertaining. Oh, the joys of being the firstborn of quiver full of children…

Hi, I’m very flattered that you nominated my blog, thank you! At this stage (by which I mean, I think, that my blog was barely a blip on anyone’s radar until a week ago and I don’t feel comfortable self promoting it even further just after being Freshly Pressed!) I just don’t quite feel ready to link to 15 other blogs and say 7 things about myself so I think I will just feel grateful that you saw fit to nominate me, without actually participating myself in the nomination process.

    • Totally okay. 🙂 I can empathize, since I normally don’t do this type of thing either (not my comfort zone). But, since I decided to go ahead, I wanted to put down blogs I truly enjoyed, and your’s was one of them. 🙂 All the best to you and your blogging journey!
